The Center for Educational Resources in Culture, Language and Literacy has an opening for a part-time (full benefits) coordinator for its World Languages and cultures outreach programming! This position promotes, disseminates, and expands the reach of the Center’s activities, focusing especially on educational outreach in K12 contexts, but also outreach to the University of Arizona community, other colleges, and the general public. We are looking for an individual who understands world language and culture teaching / learning communities at K-12 or 13-16 levels, and has familiarity with relevant learning standards. Previous event planning is also preferred. 

While the position is located at the University of Arizona in Tucson, some remote work is possible for a well-qualified applicant in Arizona.

The Outreach Coordinator’s work changes throughout the year, but duties at various times include:

  • Planning and implementing events such as an annual campus language fair for University of Arizona students, professional development workshops and webinars for language educators at K-16 levels, and community-based activities intended to further the reach of resources generated by CERCLL’s projects.
  • Responding to requests for CERCLL’s participation in presentations, community fairs and other types of outreach events, soliciting help when necessary, from other staff and volunteers.
  • Extending CERCLL’s contacts with individual teachers, local and regional school districts, and the Arizona Department of Education.
  • Collecting data to evaluate outreach program effectiveness and consulting with program participants to improve program quality and better meet the needs of the educator community.
