CERCLL offers digital badges that are issued to individuals at all levels of participation in CERCLL-related endeavors. We currently offer these badges for participants in our webinars and conferences, and for individuals who create curriculum materials from these events.
Digital badges are issued by institutions to award educational or professional development achievements. Persons earning badges can display their achievements on social media and other platforms, making them visible to employers, colleagues and peers in their wider professional networks.
Available Badges:
Participant – A participant badge is issued to any person who attends a single, live, 60-90 minute Professional Development Webinar sponsored by CERCLL. A participant is able to earn a badge for each webinar they attend.
Participant badges are also available for individuals who attend a multi-day live-streamed or in-person conference hosted by CERCLL, such as the L2 Digital Literacies (L2DL) symposium or the Intercultural Competence (ICC) conference. In order for attendees to qualify for these badges, there may be specific attendance stipulations outlined on the event page.
Presenter – A presenter badge is issued to a language education professional who creates and delivers a presentation related to his or her work in the education of language and culture during a 60-90 minute Professional Development Webinar hosted by CERCLL, or at a CERCLL-organized conference such as L2DL and ICC.
Creator – A creator badge is issued to a teacher or student who develops open education resources that CERCLL is able to share on an open education resource database. This resource can be an original activity or lesson plan that can be used by others.
Premium Creator – A premium creator badge is issued to a teacher or student who develops open education resources that CERCLL is able to share on an open education resource database. This can be an original set of materials or themed unit that can be easily adapted or replicated by other language educators.

Professional Development and Continuing Education Certificates:
CERCLL will continue to email traditional certificates of continuing education to persons who attend the event synchronously and request them in the poll nearing the end of each event. Please note that in order to receive a certificate, you must use the same email address you used to register when you log into the event. Certificates are sent by email, usually about two weeks after the event.
